Author’s Note: This is my first ever Sam/Dean fic. This is my first ever Supernatural fic. This is really more of a poem than a fic, and it was written at 2AM. That’s pretty much it.

 

Is it right?

Of course not.

It’s hair under fingers and scars and hiding from the light.

It’s dried blood and knowing where bones have been broken though they’ve long since healed.

It’s salty skin and is this what wrong tastes like?

Of course not.

It’s coming home sore and the way tension has to build before release.

It’s brown eyes and a smile and he’s scared out of his mind.

It’s wondering to himself, will I let you be mine?

Of course not.

It’s shadows and hunched shoulders and hushed crying in the night.

It’s shoving his heart back inside and locking it up, far below the surface.

It’s you’re all I have left and we can make it work, right?

Of course not.

It’s sweating and cold and shaking, waking up on fire.

It’s low tones and warm breath and all that it takes to bring him back.

It’s you’re here now  and I’ve got you and can you sleep alright?

Of course not.

It’s running in circles, screaming and jumping and never leaving the fight.

It’s coming back to the home of the day and knowing one thing’s the same, one thing’s still sane.

It’s I love you  and  don’t cry and it’s you and me, Sammy, can you tell me that’s not right?

Of course not.
